Pavel Grumpy Šimerda
Software engineer and Mastery Club trainer
Pavel Grumpy Šimerda began around 2005 building websites in a small team with a graphic designer. Since 2008, he has worked as an independent software engineer and trainer, except for five years at Red Hat. Around 2019, his focus moved from systems to industrial software, and in 2026 he began mentoring engineering teams whose software must remain reliable and maintainable over the long term.
Beyond client work, Pavel has designed and taught two programming courses at Charles University, joined the ISO C++ standards committee, and co-founded a private secondary school. On LinkedIn, his #BahenníLázně (Mud Spa) series examines how people handle public disagreements.
During the COVID lockdowns, Mexo introduced Pavel to the international negotiation community on Clubhouse and to its Czech room, Silná vyjednávací káva (Strong Negotiation Coffee). Engineering taught him that not every disagreement is a misunderstanding waiting for a better explanation, and negotiation became the discipline that takes such disagreements seriously. He is now a Mastery Club trainer, a member of the NegotiCON team and, most recently, of NEGOZINE.
